Domo
Domo is a cloud platform for connecting data, transforming it, and delivering dashboards and business applications. Its AI capabilities include natural-language data exploration and model connections. It suits a team that needs a governed operational view across business systems, rather than an isolated chatbot over a spreadsheet.
Define the metric before adding AI
For a revenue dashboard, connect the source systems, reconcile account IDs, and define booking dates, refunds, and currency rules. Use transformations to produce a dataset whose totals match the source reports. Then evaluate AI questions against those verified totals. A fluent answer cannot repair a mismatched join or an outdated refresh.
Check row-level access with two employees who have different entitlements. Confirm that dashboards, exports, and AI answers respect the intended boundary. Document the refresh owner and the response when an upstream connector fails.
Trial and consumption pricing
The pricing page offers a 30-day trial and custom commercial pricing. Official documentation says the older Freemium program no longer accepts new signups. Trial exclusions include AutoML, Jupyter Workspaces, and some governance functions, so confirm the features enabled in your instance.
Domo uses consumption credits across activities such as data updates, transformations, storage, workflows, and AI. A broad user allowance does not mean unlimited processing. Ask for the applicable rate card, consumption terms, credit commitment, overage rules, and support package. Include existing warehouse costs and implementation work when estimating your budget. Use a representative refresh schedule and query workload to validate the quote.
