Synthesia
Synthesia turns scripts into videos with digital presenters, scene layouts, and generated speech. It is designed for explainers, onboarding, training, and other presentations that need regular text updates. A browser editor lets you revise a script and regenerate the affected content instead of recording a presenter again.
What it offers
The platform combines avatar selection, templates, scene editing, and translation or dubbing tools. Personal avatars and collaboration functions depend on the plan. It is most relevant when a consistent presenter and a controlled script matter. Generated presenters do not replace factual review, translation review, or a real person’s permission to use their likeness.
Access and cost
Synthesia changed its self-serve plans on October 1, 2026. Basic remains free and includes a monthly allowance of 10 video minutes, three survey responses, and 500 credits. Free videos carry a watermark and can be shared by link. Monthly billing is US$29 for Starter and US$89 for Pro, the new name for Creator. Paid plans add credits and functions such as video downloads and logo removal.
Practical limits
Credits are shared across eligible generation tasks, and consumption depends on avatar footage and the product used. A finished minute is not a universal billing unit across video, dubbing, and API work. Check the quote before regeneration and compare annual commitments separately. Review pronunciation, screen text, gestures, and lip synchronization before distributing training or customer-facing material.
