OpenAI Dots is a personal agent experience in ChatGPT, with its own cloud computer and ongoing context. It can prepare work between conversations. OpenAI currently starts users with one primary dot. Product announcement.
Access and cost
Pro access is rolling out to adults aged 18+ in supported markets outside the EEA, Switzerland and UK. Business Premium has workspace and regional conditions; Enterprise beta requires admin enablement. The first dot is included with eligible Pro/Business Premium plans, while deeper work has an allowance. Check your account before subscribing. Current eligibility.
Setup and control
Create your dot in a supported ChatGPT app or desktop web, then inspect its connections and action rules. Mobile web is not supported. Start with a small document-summary task and review sources before scheduling repeat work. Its cloud computer can continue while your device is off; optional local-computer tasks require that computer online with ChatGPT open.
Memory boundaries
Disconnecting an app stops new access but does not erase context already learned. Individual dot memories cannot currently be directly inspected, edited or deleted. Deleting the dot clears its own context; separately stored files and ChatGPT memory have separate controls. Privacy and memory FAQ.
Official documentation reviewed on October 23, 2026. We have not run a live Dots task.
